Focus and Scope

CONSENT: Community Service Frontiers is focusing on innovative, measurable, and sustainable community service scholarship linking universities, partners, and residents. It publishes research and practice reports on community development, empowerment, and strengthening through Service Learning and participatory approaches, including Participatory Action Research (PAR), Asset Based Community Development (ABCD), and Community-Based Research (CBR). Scope covers education, health, appropriate technology, environmental sustainability, entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises, disaster risk reduction, inclusive services for vulnerable groups, local wisdom and cultural preservation, and collaborative governance, border and less-developed regions, aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  • University-led community service research and practice with community and partner participation.
  • Community development, empowerment, and strengthening with clear, measurable impact.
  • Problem-solving programmes that are comprehensive, meaningful, sustainable, and novel.
  • Service Learning and participatory methodologies: Participatory Action Research (PAR), Asset Based Community Development (ABCD), Community-Based Research (CBR).
  • Education and capacity-building: literacy, training, inclusive learning, civic responsibility.
  • Health and environmental programmes: promotion, sanitation, nutrition, waste, clean water, sustainability.
  • Socio-economic development: entrepreneurship, cooperatives, creative industries, small and medium enterprises.
  • Context-focused work: appropriate technology, disaster resilience, local wisdom and culture, governance partnerships, border and less-developed regions, alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Publication Frequency

CONSENT is published four times a year in January, April, July and October.


Journal History

CONSENT: Community Service Frontiers has been published regularly by Pub Academy on a quarterly basis since 2026.


Article Processing Charges

There are no fees for submission, peer review or publication. Authors and readers pay no charges at any stage of the process.
