Focus and Scope

PLEA: Periodical Review of Law is a peer reviewed journal addressing contemporary legal problems, policy evaluation, and evolving professional practice. It publishes original work from academics, practitioners, and researchers, encouraging multidisciplinary inquiry that links doctrinal argument with empirical findings and practice informed analysis. The journal advances understanding of legal concepts, legislative drafting, judicial reasoning, and regulatory governance, while examining the social and economic effects of law in operation. Submissions should assess institutional impacts on behaviour and markets, and appraise reform against legality, justice, proportionality, and rights.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  • Legislative and Regulatory Analysis: Critical evaluation of statutes, subordinate legislation, and policy instruments in domestic and comparative settings.
  • International and Comparative Law: Studies of legal systems, comparative method, treaty practice, and international human rights implementation.
  • Business, Trade, and IP Law: Work on commercial regulation, corporate governance, competition, finance, intellectual property, and digital economy law.
  • Environmental and Natural Resources Law: Research on conservation, climate governance, resource management, and environmental compliance and liability.

Publication Frequency

PLEA is published four times a year in January, April, July and October.

Journal History

PLEA: Periodical Review of Law has been published regularly by Pub Academy on a quarterly basis since 2026.

Article Processing Charges

There are no fees for submission, peer review or publication. Authors and readers pay no charges at any stage of the process.
