Focus and Scope
PURE: Public Health Quarterly is focusing on rigorous research and reviews advancing public health across populations and settings. Scope includes epidemiology, applied biostatistics, surveillance of communicable and non-communicable diseases, and evaluation of interventions and programmes. The journal welcomes studies on health promotion, behavioural science, public health nutrition, environmental health, occupational health and safety, disaster and risk management, and reproductive, maternal and child health. We publish analyses of health services effectiveness, hospital management, governance, audit, law, ethics, policy, administration, workforce capacity, needs assessments, and cost-effectiveness, with particular relevance to tropical and community health development worldwide submissions.
The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:
- Epidemiology, disease surveillance, and population health trends.
- Biostatistics, applied methods, and cost-effectiveness analysis.
- Communicable and non-communicable disease prevention and control.

Publication Frequency
PURE is published four times a year in January, April, July and October.
Journal History
PURE: Public Health Quarterly has been published regularly by Pub Academy on a quarterly basis since 2026.

There are no fees for submission, peer review or publication. Authors and readers pay no charges at any stage of the process.
