Focus and Scope

PIDGIN: Periodical Review of English Teaching is a quarterly, open-access, double-anonymised refereed title issued by Pub Academy. It welcomes data-driven studies and conceptual analyses on English language teaching, EFL, and adjacent work in linguistics and literary studies, prioritising inquiry rooted in everyday classrooms. The journal invites practitioners, university staff, scholars, and postgraduate writers to submit short research reports, full-length articles, and reflective, theoretically framed pedagogic interventions. Submissions must demonstrate an explicit theory to pedagogy connection and be situated in genuine learning environments, including teacher-led projects and carefully evaluated innovations.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  • Curriculum design and materials development in ELT
  • English language literacy and academic writing
  • English language testing, assessment and evaluation
  • Classroom discourse and interaction
  • Second Language Acquisition (SLA) in instructional settings
  • Critical discourse analysis and language in education
  • English linguistics with pedagogical implications
  • Translation, literature and literary studies in English education
